The Bloody Beach

The Bloody Beach

Its 3am on the 25th of April 1915.  It’s pitch black. We’re all cramped in a small landing boat. I’m shaking uncontrollably.  The soldier sitting next to me whispered  “Don’t be scared.   Its going to be ok!” Image result for poppies

The first battalion landed on shore.   “We’re next!” I whispered to my friend .  Suddenly a spark lit the whole ocean.  “We've been seen!” yelled the Commander.

I’m scared. Frightened soldiers jumped out of the landing boat.  Some drowned.  Some got shot.  It was horrifying.

Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my leg.  I couldn’t walk.  My leg had been shot. I started shouting for help. No one listened to me.  Everyone was fighting for their lives.

I’ m private Len Andrew John and 7 months ago I was just a farm hand.  And now I am  going to die on the bloody beach.

Reflection
I am learning to write a recount.
I am so proud of being able to write a descriptive.
I found tricky to think of descriptive words.
My mum and dad and teachers could help me.
The next step of my learning is doing a more descriptive story.

You have put a lot of effort into writing your ANZAC Recount. I am impressed with some of the descriptive words that you have used to make your writing seem real and the short sentences that add effect to your writing.
